Earthquakes in the weather forecast? Perhaps

Link: The Washington Post Earthquakes originate deep underground. Weather happens on the surface. How could weather cause earthquakes? It's possible, some scientists say. "Even slight changes in weather and climate can rip the planet's crust apart, unleashing the furious might of volcanic eruptions, earthquakes and landslides," a conference in London in September concluded. And the effects don't occur only over eons; NASA and U.S. Geological Survey scientists believe recently retreating glaciers caused the magnitude 7.2 St. Elias earthquake in 1979.
