VOYAGE GOES SOUTH: Montana State-Billings sweeps season series.
A UAA volleyball road trip that began so promisingly lost a bit of its luster Monday night, when the Seawolves fell in four sets in a Great Northwest Athletic Conference match at Montana State-Billings.

UAA's Jackie Matthisen, named the GNAC Player of the Week Sept. 28, 2009, had 14 kills.
The Yellowjackets completed a season sweep of the Seawolves with a 25-23, 19-25, 26-24, 25-15 victory that sent UAA to its second loss in two nights.
Those back-to-back losses -- UAA was swept in a nonconference match against Rocky Mountain College in Billings on Sunday -- were a buzz kill after the Seawolves opened their journey with five-set conference wins at Western Washington and Central Washington.
"We're just very inconsistent right now,'' UAA coach Chris Green said by phone Monday.
The Yellowjackets and Seawolves split the first two sets -- Billings never trailed in the first set, ditto for UAA in the second -- the match turned in the third set, when the Seawolves could not sustain big leads. They led 13-7 and 18-12 before the Yellowjackets rallied to a 26-24 win and closed out the Seawolves with a 25-15 cruise job in the fourth set.
"The fourth wasn't pretty for us,'' Green said.
Monday's match was UAA's fourth in five nights, but Green cited inconsistency rather that weariness for the somber back end to a 2-2 roadie. UAA is 10-7 overall and 3-2 in the GNAC.
"We're not going to use fatigue as an excuse,'' he said. "That's not what we're about.''
Jackie Matthisen, who earlier Monday was named the GNAC Player of the Week primarily for her combined 50 kills in the two wins in Washington, generated 14 kills for the Seawolves on Monday. McKenzie Moss delivered 14 kills and 19 digs, but also suffered 12 attack errors.
Billings, which improved to 9-7 overall and 3-2 in league, received 19 kills and 15 digs from Devon Crotteau, the league's deadliest hitter. Jen Boe added 13 kills for the Yellowjackets.
