2002 Anchorage Daily News internships

The Daily News offers reporting and photography internships every summer.
Pay is in the area of $9.50 per hour, 40 hours per week, for approximately 12 weeks. Reliable transportation is needed, and mileage is paid when the intern is on assignment.
We encourage interns to work to the level of their talent and experience, and expect them to leave with enhanced portfolios. We offer interns a mentoring program on newspapering issues and practices.
Members of minority groups and women are encouraged to apply.
All applicants should send a letter and resume. Additionally, reporter applicants should include at least six samples of their best work. Photo interns should submit 20 samples presented in any form the applicant chooses (tearsheets, prints, slides, CD, zip, disc), which represent work that would be appropriate for publication in a newspaper. Those sending their work digitally should make sure it can be displayed on Macintosh computers.
Please note that the deadlines to apply are different for reporter and photographer intern applicants.
Reporters must apply by Dec. 10, 2001. Photographers must apply by Feb. 1, 2002.
