The Alaska Press Club board is made up of nine members, appointed in an annual election (as vacancies open) by the general membership. Every full member has a vote. Board members serve two-year terms. Officers are named annually.

The Board has the authority to declare Board seats vacant and to appoint members to serve until the next general election.

Tataboline Brant
President

Ta is an associate editor at the weekly Anchorage Press. She has been a staff reporter for The Frontiersman, The Dutch Harbor Fisherman and the Bristol Bay Times. She's lived in Alaska for over a decade and studied biology and journalism at the University of Alaska Anchorage. She is so committed to journalism that she could not bring herself to paper-train her puppy.

Rebecca Palsha
Board member

Rebecca is a television news reporter with Alaska's Superstation, Channel 13. She has a journalism degree from
UAF and an art degree from Greensboro College in North Carolina, and was formerly a reporter/anchor with Channel 11.

Katie Pesznecker
Vice president

Katie moved to Alaska and took her current job as education reporter for the Anchorage Daily News in June 2001. She graduated from Oregon State University in June 2000, and has worked for several Oregon papers, including the Oregonian. She was elected to the Press Club in April 2002.

Shana Sheehy
Board member

Shana is a print and radio freelancer, and former station manager of campus radio station KRUA-FM, at the University of Alaska Anchorage.

Board member

Jody is radio producer and news director for KDLG in Dillingham.

Naomi Klouda
Board member

Naomi, a 1978 Dimond High grad, was raised in Anchorage, where her journalism career since college has spanned 20 years, including stints in the lifestyles sections of both Anchorage dailies. For a while, she wrote the Anchorage Times' consumer column "Dear Bud." More recently, she reported on crime and courts for the Frontiersman.

In 1990, Naomi completed an MFA in creative writing at the University of Alaska Anchorage, where she now teaches Writing for the Media. She is also city reporter for the Anchorage Chronicle.
