On the cover
Anchorage's Scott Gomez shared the Stanley Cup with a crowd at the Alaska Native Medical Center. Tradition dictates that every member of the National Hockey League championship team gets the Cup for one day during the off-season. Gomez, the NHL rookie of the year and a member of the New Jersey Devils, got his day on July 14. He brought it home to Anchorage, and thousands of Alaskans went to see it. (Photo by Erik Hill)
