In the event that you needed any more evidence that North Dakota is in the midst of a boom, here it is: Alaska's strippers are migrating south to strike it rich off "lonely oil men" with a slick of money to spread.
Thousands of oil workers have migrated to the Bakken oil patch in search of jobs, and ladies of the night aim to cash in. According to CNN, strip dancers can make "ten times as much dancing in the oil boomtown of Williston, N.D." than they can in Vegas or elsewhere.
The story goes on to outline how one of Williston's two strip bars -- Whispers -- has received applications from Hawaiians, Germans, Czechs and yes, even Alaskan strippers.
"We used to have to beg people to come, and now we have to turn them away because we don't have room for all the people who want to dance," Whispers co-owner Melissa Slapnicka told CNN. "My best girls would rather dance here than in Vegas, because they make so much money here."
How much, you ask? According to the story, one stripper, named Kit, reports that over the past year she's begun pulling in as much as $2,000 to $3,000 a night.
No word yet whether the Great Alaskan Bush Company or Fantasies on 5th Ave has experienced an outmigration of its most talented dancers.
