'Brothers' are back, this time lessons in Alaskan mountaineering (+Video)

Brothers Eric and John Jackson, the blood-relative team behind the Red Bull TV series "Brothers on the Run," are back at their usual tricks. The newest installment, episode five, has the brothers snowboarding the backcountry and subsequently learning the 'ropes' of mountaineering.

The Jacksons, friend Pat McCarthy and crew ventured north of Anchorage into the sublime winter wonderland of the Alaska Range.

There the group spent four days picking lines and building kickers to put a cap on their season in Alaska. Additionally, the Brothers and crew got a crash course in backcountry mountaineering. Around 2:20 John says, "man, I've really been wanting to learn how to climb more mountains." He adds,"See, I can act like I know what I'm doing, but I don't. First time using crampons. First time hiking something like this, being roped up. Fist time using a pick axe. "

Jackson admits that he was nervous performing some of the necessary mountaineering activities, but in the end the rewards were well worth it. He sheepishly admits, "Once it's done once, it's a party."
