Cairn Energy wins injunction against Greenpeace activists

Remember the Greenpeace activists, the "hippies," who were monitored by Danish commandos as they occupied an oil rig slated to explore Cairn Energy's Greenland offshore leases? Well, according to CBC News, an Amsterdam court has granted the company an injunction against future actions by activists. Protesters now face a fine of €50,000 per day (less than the €2 million per day sought by Cairn) that they interfere with the operation. Greenpeace says it is criticizing the project because of what it claims is a lack of needed accident prevention measures. So far, 20 activists have been arrested for occupying the rig in question.
