Calving glacier nearly swamps Greenland sightseers (video)

Following the news of Greenland's historic melt, which has some scientists and environmentalists on edge, Jans Moller's wild, too-close-for-comfort video of a calving Greenlandic glacier surfaced on the Internet.

Moller's short video of the event, embedded below, realistically could have been the last thing he ever saw, but instead it ends up as an epic moment in the life of the 23-year-old mechanical engineer.

According to Grind TV, which posted the video on Wednesday, Moller told CNN he wasn't that scared because the wave didn't look as big through the viewfinder of his camera as it actually was. Moller's fairly reasonable, albeit wrong, observation prompted Grind TV to write "perhaps those viewfinders should come with 'objects are bigger and closer than they appear' label".

Indeed, perhaps they should. Or perhaps, Greenland should just stop melting.
