In Canada, bear destroys car from the inside out

In Alberta, Canada, one man's car was totaled from the inside out by a bear that managed its way inside the vehicle and got trapped, probably when the wind closed the door behind it.

Sex, Booze and Cigars, an online lifestyle magazine, reports that the car, an 18-month-old Toyota Sequoia, was completely destroyed by what is believed to be a 3-year-old grizzly.

The leather seats, headrest and dash board were shredded, and the steering wheel was bent sideways. All of the door panels were ripped off, along with the wiring harnesses, which must have caused all sorts of alarm bells, voices and sparks, Toyota mechanics figure. Two airbags inflated, and the other four were destroyed. The bear made its escape through a broken out rear window.

And to top it off, the bear defecated in the back seat.

The damage to the car was more than $70,000, but the insurance company stopped counting repair costs at $60,000.

This is bad news for the owner of the vehicle, but it is perhaps better than the incident in Norway where three bears drank over 100 beers and wrecked a cabin in what must have been an epic bear party.

Or as bad as when a pilot in Alaska had to fly home on a wing, a prayer, and a case of Duct tape after his bush plane was mauled by a bear.
