On Wednesday, fears of salmonella contamination prompted state of Alaska officials to issue a public statement warning consumers that Sunland brand nut butters, including almond, peanut and cashew, were being recalled. Now Harry and David, LLC is doing the same.
In press release, Harry and David, LLC announced its concerned that Salmonella may have contaminated their peanut and almond butters, which are manufactured by Sunland, Inc.
Harry and David, LLC products are sold through Harry and David and Wolferman's catalogs, websites and retail stores. The company decided to issue a press release after learning that some Sunland, Inc. nut butters had been recalled. Below is a list of Harry and David products subject to the nationwide recall.

When consumed by humans, Salmonella often causes serious and uncomfortable illness and, occasionally, fatal infections in children and the elderly. Symptoms of Salmonella poisoning include fever, diarrhea, bloody stool, nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain.
