Colony Middle School closed another week for earthquake repairs

Colony Middle School in Palmer will remain closed for another week while earthquake repairs are underway.

“Due to the extensive damage of the ceiling grid and tile, currently there are not enough supplies to complete repairs as previously hoped,” Principal Mary Fulp said in an email to parents Tuesday.

The school is expected to open to staff on Tuesday, Dec. 18, and to students on Wednesday, Dec. 19, Fulp said.

Students will be allowed into the school this Thursday between 4 and 5:30 p.m. to collect personal items from their lockers. They will not be allowed into classrooms, which are still considered “hard-hat areas.”
