Rollover crash on Seward Highway leaves woman hospitalized in critical condition

A rollover crash on Seward Highway Sunday morning left one woman hospitalized in critical condition and caused the closure of southbound traffic near Tudor for several hours, Anchorage police said in a news alert.

A woman driving an Escalade south on Seward Highway rear-ended a Ford pulling a boat trailer driving in the same direction, police said. The Escalade rolled at least once and the driver was ejected from her vehicle, police said. A passenger also in the Escalade did not have serious injuries and no one in the Ford was injured, police said. Police responded to the crash at 9:54 a.m., according to the news alert.

The crash resulted in the closure of southbound traffic on the highway near Tudor Road for about four hours Sunday, according to police.

Anchorage Police Department’s fatality crash investigators are investigating the cause of the collision.
