Anchorage police ID body found on island in Ship Creek last week

The body of a man found on an island in Ship Creek by fishermen last week has been identified by Anchorage police.

A Friday statement from police named the man, who was discovered on the night of May 18, as 45-year-old Dennis Haroldsen.

"There were no immediate signs of foul play," police wrote. "Next of kin have been notified."

Police present as Haroldsen's body was recovered said at the time that "nothing suspicious" was found at the scene.
