A man on a bike is pepper-spraying people in Anchorage

Anchorage police said they received multiple reports Sunday night from people who said they were pepper-sprayed by a man riding a bicycle in and around downtown Anchorage.

Police got the first call around 5:54 p.m., and received several more reports over the next 45 minutes, when Anchorage Police Department spokeswoman Renee Oistad put out a release detailing the pepper-spraying spree.

"The first reports came from Town Square Park and subsequent reports came from the Sullivan Arena area.  There are at least four victims at this time," Oistad wrote.

"The suspect has been described as a white male riding a bicycle.  He's wearing a black shirt with a gold emblem on it, blue jeans, and bright red shoes.  He's carrying a black backpack and possibly a camouflage backpack as well," the statement said.

Anyone who has seen the man or has been pepper-sprayed should call police at 786-8900.
