One person died Friday afternoon in a fire at an East Anchorage mobile home park, the fire officials said.
Jodie Hettrick, deputy chief of operations, said a report of the fire came in around 3:45 p.m. in the mobile home court off 2221 Muldoon Road. When firefighters arrived a few minutes later, the front part of the home was engulfed in flames, Hettrick said. Firefighters attempted a rescue and found one victim.
The fire was under control by around 4:10 p.m., Hettrick said.
The cause of the fire wasn't yet known, and the victim's identity wasn't being released Friday evening, she said.
