Anchorage police looking for woman they say was involved in beating of ex-boyfriend's new girlfriend

Anchorage police are looking for a woman they say showed up on her ex-boyfriend's current girlfriend's doorstep with a mob of people early Sunday morning and beat the woman up before the alleged victim's brother intervened and slashed one of them with a knife.

Police were called to the 1600 block of Russian Jack Drive in East Anchorage at 4:19 a.m. Sunday, according to an Anchorage Police Department news release.

There, a woman told officers she heard people pounding on her door and opened it. She told police three women pulled her outside and "began beating her," according to a written statement from APD spokeswoman Renee Oistad.

One of them, she said, was 34-year-old Amber Renee Morrison, who police said is the ex-girlfriend of the woman's boyfriend.

During the fracas, the alleged victim's brother got involved and was quickly surrounded by four men, police said.

"The brother pulled out a knife and slashed one of his male attackers," Oistad wrote.

The brother was hit by shots from a BB gun fired by the men as they fled, police said.

About 20 minutes later, police got a call from a local hospital that a stabbing victim had been dropped off.

The man matched the description of one of the people involved in the fight on Russian Jack Drive, but he wouldn't cooperate with police.

Police are seeking Amber Morrison on a warrant for felony assault.

Morrison is described as 5 feet, 8 inches tall and 165 pounds.
