Shots fired, alcohol stolen in robbery at Anchorage bar, police say

Three people walked into a West Anchorage bar early Thursday, and one pulled out a gun, ordered everyone to get on the floor and fired a shot, police said.

"The suspects went behind the bar, stole several bottles of alcohol, and then fled on foot," police said in a dispatch. "After the suspects exited, more shots were heard by the people inside the bar."

No one was injured, police said.

There were six people inside the Flight Deck Bar & Lounge, near Arctic Boulevard and International Airport Road, at the time of the robbery and two people in a truck parked outside.

A man in the truck told police that when the three suspects ran out of the bar, one pointed a gun at him and fired, according to police.

"Fearing for his life, the male victim accelerated quickly and drove away, calling police immediately thereafter," police said. "The vehicle was not hit."

Officers arrived at the bar at 1:04 a.m. in response to a report of a robbery and shots fired. A K-9 unit tried to track the suspects but was unable to find them, police said.

Police spokeswoman Renee Oistad would not say whether police have detailed descriptions of the suspects.

The dispatch described the suspect with the gun as a "black adult male" and the other two suspects as a "Native adult male" and "Native adult female."

"No further suspect descriptions," Oistad said. "We're not going to talk about all the evidence that we have."

The manager at the bar declined to comment Thursday.

Police asked anyone with information on the robbery to call police dispatch at 786-8900 and press "0" to speak with an operator. To remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at 907-561-STOP or go to anchoragecrimestoppers.com, police said.
