Man found shot in Mountain View home after break-in, Anchorage police say

Anchorage police say a man was shot during a break-in and robbery Sunday morning at a home in the Mountain View neighborhood.

The man, who authorities didn't identify, was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries to his upper body, police spokesman MJ Thim said.

According to the victim, two armed men broke into the home and stole an unspecified amount of money, Thim said. He added that the robbery appeared to be targeted and isolated, since the men knew where the money was hidden.

"They knew exactly what they were looking for," Thim said, adding that police are still trying to determine the relationship between the victim and the two men who authorities said broke into the house.

Police haven't identified either the victim or the armed men; they're waiting to get more information for the victim after he's treated, Thim said.
