Woman charged after armed carjacking at East Anchorage gas station

A woman was in custody after she stole a car at gunpoint early Thursday at a Holiday gas station on Muldoon Road, according to a statement from Anchorage police.

At about 2:30 a.m., police say, Lily Pogi, 24, forced a driver from a white 2011 Toyota Yaris. Police stopped the vehicle less than 10 minutes later on Meyer Street in Mountain View and took Pogi into custody.

Pogi faces charges of vehicle theft and robbery, police said. She has a previous conviction for burglary from 2017, according to court records.
