Man arrested on sex assault charge; Anchorage police say more victims likely

Anchorage police say a preliminary investigation connected to a man arrested in January on a sexual assault charge "highly indicates the likelihood of additional victims."

William Jackson, 27, was arrested Jan. 23 and faces a charge of sexual assault in the second degree, the Anchorage Police Department said Friday in an alert. The investigation began in October, police said, after a victim reported the alleged assault.

"The victim and Jackson were at his house watching a movie when the assault began," the police statement said. "At one point, she was able to escape and attempted to leave his house but he assaulted her again. When she was able to leave, she called the police."

Officials are asking people with information about other possible victims to call police dispatch at 907-786-8900.
