Anchorage police seek pickup driver in hit-and-run that injured pedestrian

Anchorage police are looking for a pickup driver who didn’t stop Tuesday after striking a woman in East Anchorage.

The woman was crossing Muldoon Road at DeBarr Road around 8:15 a.m. She was taken to the hospital with minor injuries, police said.

The woman was in a crosswalk, but the question of whether she or the driver had the right of way is still being investigated, Anchorage police spokesman MJ Thim said.

The degree to which road conditions and the driver’s speed were factors in the collision are also under investigation, Thim said.

The suspect truck, identified using surveillance video, is a dark green or gray GMC with a topper on the bed.

Police asked anyone with information about the truck to call dispatch at 311.
