2 women stabbed in parked car in East Anchorage

Two women were found with stab wounds in an East Anchorage neighborhood early Tuesday morning, though police are still working to determine what happened.

According to a statement from the Anchorage Police Department, officers responded to the 4200 block of McLean Place at just before 1 a.m. Tuesday, where they found two women with stab wounds in an SUV parked on the street.

According to police, the two had gotten into a physical altercation with each other in the car in which they were both stabbed. They were transported to hospitals, where their injuries were deemed not life-threatening.

No charges were filed as of Tuesday morning. APD Spokeswoman Jennifer Castro said police are still determining "each females' involvement in the altercation and what actions each female took."

It's unclear how well the women know each other. Castro said it appears the two have a mutual friend.

The investigation remains ongoing. Police believe there are no outstanding suspects in the case.
