Anchorage woman dead in Glenn Highway wreck near Glennallen

An Anchorage woman died in Monday morning's single-vehicle crash on the Glenn Highway near Glennallen, according to Alaska State Troopers.

Troopers said in an updated dispatch Monday that the driver and sole occupant in the crash, at about 8:30 a.m. near Mile 135 of the highway, was 27-year-old Jeannie Watson.

"(Watson) was driving a 2006 Chevrolet Impala northbound on the Glenn Highway when she drove the vehicle off the roadway and over a berm," troopers wrote. "The vehicle rolled over into thick alders and Watson was ejected in the wreck."

Troopers said Watson wasn't wearing a seat belt in the crash. Her next of kin have been notified.

The state medical examiner's office will conduct an autopsy on Watson's body.
