Headed outside? Here’s a look at Southcentral Alaska’s weather forecasts for the Memorial Day weekend

It's a grab bag of some clouds, some sun and possibly a few rain showers for much of Southcentral Alaska over the three-day Memorial Day weekend, including in Anchorage, according to the National Weather Service.

"I wouldn't call this a rainy weekend," said Dave Kochevar, a National Weather Service meteorologist. "We're expecting it to be a little nicer than what we've had the past month."

Kochevar said he expects any rain in the Anchorage Bowl to most likely fall in the mountains. Broadly, the chances of rain aren't very high across the area.

"It's a 20, 30 or 40 percent chance of rain," he said. "This time of year, that's not a washout by any means."
