The day the moose at Point Woronzof were really wild

For about an hour Monday afternoon, moose mesmerized motorists and sightseers as bulls in rut chased cows back and forth across Point Woronzof Road in West Anchorage. Bulls, cows and calves were spotted from Postmark Drive to Point Woronzof, feeding and meandering along the road.

At one point, five moose were visible near the Chugach Electric Association substation. One of them, a large bull, then took a long, leisurely amble up the road all the way to Point Woronzof Park, where he paused for a drink before crashing off into the alders.
