University wants Boeing 727 to land at Merrill Field

Photo courtesy of FedExFedEx is retiring most of their 727-200 airplanes. A plan for FedEx to give UAA one of the retired planes would mean the jet would fly to Merrill Field where it would be used in the university's aircraft maintenance program.

FedEx has agreed to donate a Boeing 727 to the University of Alaska Anchorage for use by aviation technology students at Merrill Field. The jet would be the largest ever to land at the airport, the city says. The proposal goes before the Assembly... 3 hours ago
