Jackson State knocks off Cal State Northridge

Reserve forward Tiffany Haggen poured in 16 points, including the game-winning shot with just over a minute remaining, to lift Jackson State to a 73-65 victory over Cal State Northridge in Wednesday's third place women's game at the Carrs/Safeway Great Alaska Shootout at Sullivan Arena.

It was the first win in four games this season for Jackson State, which also got 13 points on 5-of-7 shooting plus four assists from forward Shaneese McLin.

The Tigers went on a 17-3 run late in the game to erase a Northridge lead that was as big as nine points with a little more than seven minutes to go.

Whitney Ligon led the Matadors (0-6) with a game-high 17 points on 6-of-10 shooting, while reserve guard Ashley Blake scored 14 points, making 4 of 8.
