Jamaican finishes Quest

Newton Marshall became the first Jamaican musher to complete the 1,000-mile Yukon Quest when he passed the finish line in Fairbanks early Thursday morning.

Marshall finished in 13th place at 6:26 a.m. He was almost two days behind winner Sebastian Schnuelle, who finished at 10:44 a.m. Tuesday.

Five mushers remain on the trail and another 10 have scratched. The race began Feb. 14 in Whitehorse.
