Lamoureux is hot, hot, hot

With an eye-opening 1.57 goals-against average and jaw-dropping .949 save percentage entering the ECHL's Kelly Cup Finals, Alaska Aces rookie Jean-Philippe Lamoureux is on pace to produce the best playoff goaltending in the league's 21-season history.

Among goalies who have played at least 10 playoff games in a season, Idaho's Steve Silverthorn put up the stingiest goals-against average (1.77 in 2007) and Roanoke's Daniel Berthiaume recorded the highest save percentage (.943 in 1999).

With 12 wins in 14 playoff games, Lamoureux has also furnished four shutouts, one shy of tying the league playoff record set by Richmond's Maxime Gingras in 1999. Lamoureux, the league's Goaltender of the Year, set an ECHL regular-season record with eight shutouts.

The Aces open the best-of-7 Kelly Cup Finals on Friday night, when they entertain the South Carolina Stingrays at Sullivan Arena.
