Point guard Lao is 4th player to sign with UAA men

Donnie Lao, a junior college point guard, signed a National Letter of Intent to play basketball with the Seawolves next season, coach Rusty Osborne announced Thursday.

The 6-foot-2 junior will transfer to UAA from Snow College in Ephraim, Utah, where he registered 241 assists in two seasons.

As a sophomore last season, he was named to the All-Scenic West Athletic Conference second team after averaging 10.8 points, 3.7 assists, 2.9 rebounds, and shooting 48 percent from the field, 41 percent on 3-pointers and 80 percent from the free-throw line.

"As an all-league performer in one of the best JC leagues in the country, Donnie gives us a very talented and experienced point guard in our backcourt," said Osborne in a press release. "He can distribute the ball, but is also a great shooter with the ability to score."

Lao is one of four new players to sign with UAA this summer, joining Bryce Arnott (6-1 freshman guard), Malcolm Campbell (6-9 sophomore center), and fellow JC transfer Drew Robinson (6-1 junior guard).
