Kreiss-Tomkins tops champ

Jonathan Kreiss-Tomkins of Sitka triumphed at the Alpine Adventure Race on Saturday in Sitka, beating defending champ and race record-holder Brad Precosky of Anchorage by more than a minute. Kreiss-Tomkins finished the 7-mile Harbor Mountain Rim Trail, which featured 2,500 feet of elevation gain, in 1 hour, 10 minute and 54 seconds. Precosky, a three-time winner who still owns the race record at 1:06:46, was second in 1:12:07.

Seward's Cedar Bourgeois, who set the women's record of 1:23:00 last year, was the fastest woman and 10th overall in 1:23:42.
