Juneau's Nikles a slalom master at Alyeska

Juneau's Florence Nikles won another slalom at Mount Alyeska on Monday, upping her weekend performance to three victories in four Junior 2 girl's races.

Alyeska Ski Club's Laura Crews was second and youngster Jordan Lane was third.

Nikles won by four seconds, but Crews and Lane limited Nikles' margin with fast second runs.

In the Junior 2 boy's race, Alyeska's Tanner Cabana overcame a seven-tenths of a second deficit from the first run to leave Juneau racer Brian Vandor, the first-run leader, a second back as runner-up. Alyeska Ski Club's Nathan Bataille was third.

Sixteen of 41 boys who started did not finish.
