John Hendrickson of Anchorage roared back from a first-set loss to win an extended third set in the semifinals Saturday and advance the finals of the boys 18 singles in the Alaska Cup Junior Tennis Tournament at Delaney Park Strip.
Hendrickson defeated Cal McKim, 5-7, 6-3, 10-8. He also won a quarterfinal match.
In the girls 16 singles, Jessa Boertje of Fairbanks dropped three games combined in winning a quarterfinal match and a semifinal match. She topped Emma Neslund, 6-0, 6-0, in the quarters, and Adrienne Fox, 6-2, 6-1, in the semis. Boertje also beat Fox, 6-3, 6-0, in the girls 18 round robin.
