Service's Michael McCrae and Chugiak's Greg Ghramm, a couple of senior running backs who punished defenses this season, shared the Cook Inlet Conference Offensive Player of the Year award in voting by the league's eight coaches.

McCrae, who has helped spearhead the Cougars' drive into Saturday's large-schools championship game against fellow CIC member West, has rushed for 1,874 yards and 24 touchdowns in 10 games. He has gone over the 200-yard mark three times, scored at least one touchdown in every game and has never been held to less than 100 yards in a game.

Ghramm in nine games rushed for 1,460 yards and 18 touchdowns.

West's Conor Feckley and Eagle River's Kalechi Madubuko were both named first-team quarterbacks. Feckley in 10 games has thrown for 1,968 yards and 18 touchdowns. Madubuko accounted for 964 yards total offense in eight games for a last-place team.

West defensive end Lyndon Tulimasaelii was named the Defensive Player of the Year.

The Lineman of the Year award was shared by Service's Paul Pedro and Chugiak's Jared Kinney. Service's Amu Aukusitino cashed in as Utility Player of the Year

CIC coaches traditionally pick first- and second-teams that extend far beyond the maximum 11 offensive players and 11 defensive players allowed on the field at one time. This year, they named 16 first-team offensive positions, 20 first-team defensive positions and four special-teams first-team positions for a total of 40 first-team positions.

Dimond first-year coach Chris Borst was named Coach of the Year after guiding the Lynx to a playoff spot and a 4-5 record one season after they went 0-8.

West defensive coordinator Josh Garcia was named Assistant Coach of the Year.

Five players garnered first-team awards on a couple of fronts.

Madubuko was also named first-team return specialist. West's Jacob Eisses was picked at both center and defensive end; Service's Jeff Overbaugh got the nod at offensive tackle and long snapper; Dimond's Dylan Afusia was honored at running back and defensive back.

And Chugiak's Bryan Maley, who twice broke the unofficial state record for longest field goal with boots of 52 yards and 53 yards, was selected first-team kicking specialist and punter.
