A spokesman for Alaska Sen. Lisa Murkowski says she fully intends to caucus with Republicans if she wins re-election as a write-in candidate.
Questions about her intentions caused a flurry on Twitter Sunday, after she told CNN she would return to a new Congress to represent the interests of Alaskans and not the GOP.
She's been making similar comments throughout the campaign as she seeks to build a broad coalition of support. Her spokesman, Steve Wackowski, told The Associated Press she's a lifelong Republican, hasn't changed her principles and fully intends to caucus with the GOP if re-elected.
Murkowski's in a hotly contested race with GOP rival Joe Miller and Democrat Scott McAdams.
