Three-time Olympian Kikkan Randall followed up her season-opening skate sprint victory at an FIS race in Finland with 14th-place effort in 5-kilometer classic race on Saturday. "The track was a little greasy, and the race was short and furious," Randall said on her website, "but I laid down a solid effort for 14th place.
"I was definitely feeling a little heavy and tired from the sprint, but the body seemed to switch on and I felt ready to attack from the start."
Randall now heads to Gallivare, Sweden, for the start of the World Cup season this weekend, with a 10-K skate race on Saturday and a 4x5-K relay on Sunday.
