Dimond splits games at Illinois basketball tournament

After winning its opening-round game Monday at the 61st annual Kankakee Holiday Tournament in Illinois, the Dimond High boys basketball team fell in Tuesday's semifinals in the 4A/3A division. The Lynx on Tuesday lost 70-38 to the Carver Military Challengers. Dylan Lauwers led Dimond with 10 points and Luke Adams added seven.

Dimond shot just 29.4 percent from the field on Tuesday after shooting 59.4 percent in Monday's 61-51 win over the Paul Robeson Raiders.

Ryden Hines led Dimond on Monday with 22 points and a game-high eight rebounds. J.J. Jack-Nixon added 18 points.
