Andy Pearson provided a goal and an assist in the Alaska Avalanche's 5-2 win over Fairbanks on Saturday at the Palmer Ice Arena. Pearson's goal and assist both came in the first period, setting up a 2-2 tie. Alaska's Wehebe Darge scored the other first-period goal.
The Avalanche shut down the Ice Dogs the rest of the way, while receiving a goal from Evan Hesse in the second period and goals from Joe Schmitz and Connor Wright in the third period.
Landon Peterson made 33 saves to earn the win.
