Slide show: Alaska's endangered 55-gallon 'state flower'

If Alaska is on the verge of economic crisis because of dwindling oil reserves, then maybe the state should include a certain 55-gallon object -- bigger than a baby seal but smaller than a sea lion or polar bear -- among its endangered species. With tongue in cheek, Seldovia blogger, photographer and trekker Bretwood Higman has put together a slide show that sort of celebrates what he calls an "Alaska state flower."
