Dimond 80, Bartlett 34 in girls basketball

Dimond's Sierra Afoa led all scorers with 23 points to help her team dominate Bartlett 80-34 in a Cook Inlet Conference girls basketball game at Dimond. Afoa hit 11 of 14 field-goal attempts and grabbed 10 rebounds in a game the Lynx never trailed. Dimond's Keiahnna Engel totaled 13 points, nine rebounds and seven assists, Jordynn Ramirez added 12 points and Kimmy Jackson had four steals.

Bobbi Britt's 11 points and 15 rebounds paced Bartlett.

West 57, Eagle River 28

Cristel Nidoy, Chanel Bookert and Sasha Kozloff each scored 10 points for West in a 57-28 CIC win over Eagle River on Saturday.

West raced to an 18-2 first-quarter lead.

Dana Panfil led the Wolves with 12 points and Samantha Coy chipped in seven.

East 56, Service 32

East spoiled Service's Senior Night with a 56-32 win in a CIC game Saturday at Service.

The Cougars kept within striking distance for the first three quarters, but the Thunderbirds outscored the Cougars 19-4 in the final period. East's Christin Hawk and Togafiti Manu each scored 12 points, with Manu adding nine rebounds.

Service's Shaai Ferguson and Brittany Jeffords each scored nine points, with Jeffords grabbing 12 rebounds. The Cougars struggled from the foul line, hitting 7 of 26 attempts.

Chugiak 42, South 40

Let by Alistie Aguilar's 11 points and Jessie McMullen's 10 rebounds, Chugiak made a strong third quarter hold up for a 42-40 home win over South in a CIC girls basketball game Saturday.

Chugiak trailed by two points at the half, but outscored South 11-5 in the third quarter to take a four-point lead. The Mustangs led the entire fourth quarter.

South had a chance to tie the game with about a 10-foot shot at the final buzzer, but the shot missed. Tia Mason netted 16 points to lead the Wolverines.

Grace 53, Houston 46

Grace's Heidi Eckman fueled a high-scoring second and third quarter Saturday, finishing with 20 points and leading the Grizzlies to a 53-46 win over host Houston.

Eckman scored 12 of Grace's 18 points in the second period to power the Grizzlies to a 25-15 halftime lead. Then she scored seven of Grace's 16 points in the third quarter, helping extend the lead to 13.

Houston's Savanna James poured in a game-high 26 points, going 7 for 7 from the free-throw line and hitting two 3-pointers.
