Another clinic targeted at people on Medicare, the federal insurance for those 65 and older, has opened in Anchorage.
The Alaska Medicare Clinic is at 11260 Old Seward Highway, between O'Malley and Klatt roads.
It is a nonprofit, primary care doctor's office meant to help relieve the shortage of primary care doctors in Anchorage who will take Medicare patients.
A state grant helped get it going.
Reach the clinic, which held its first open house on Friday, at 433-5100.
Providence Alaska Medical Center in January opened a doctor's office for patients 55 and older. Its Senior Care Center is also aimed at providing care to Medicare recipients.
