Latosuo, Smith find way around Kincaid

Eeva Latosuo and Aubrey Smith covered a whole lot of ground in a very short amount of time Saturday at Kincaid Park, turning in a dominating effort to win the Women Rock Adventure Challenge. The race was a multi-sport orienteering race that covered a good chunk of the park. Competitors used maps to find 24 checkpoints and they got from one to another in a variety of ways -- running, mountain biking and paddling.

Latosuo and Smith finished in 2 hours, 6 minutes -- almost twice as fast as anyone else. The team of Kelsey Paveglio, Katrina Bombrys and Jessica Kaiser were second in 3:55.

The race, organized by Alaska Adventure Racing, attracted 26 women who competed on 11 teams.
