South High and Bartlett, two Cook Inlet Conference football teams coming off non-playoff seasons last year, are ranked No. 1 and No. 2, respectively, among large schools in the Alaska Sports Broadcasting Network's preseason poll.
Chugiak, which lost in the state quarterfinals last season, is ranked No. 3 in a vote of broadcasters and media. Palmer and West Valley complete the top five teams.
Defending small schools state champion Soldotna is ranked No. 1, followed by Kenai, which it beat for the state championship last year.
