A fund for UAA All-American runner Marko Cheseto, who recently had both feet amputated due to severe frostbite, has been set up by the university.
Cheseto, a 28-year-old student-athlete from Kenya, early this month disappeared for two days while wearing light clothing during a snowstorm. He suffered hypothermia and severe frostbite and remains hospitalized.
Donations can be sent by check and made out to UAA Athletics/Cheseto Fund, and mailed to UAA Athletics, Wells Fargo Sports Complex, Room 220, 3211 Providence Drive, Anchorage, AK 99508. Cards and letters can be sent to the same address.UAA opens door to opportunity for Kenyan runners (10/25/08)
