Fund established for runner whose feet were amputated

A fund for UAA All-American runner Marko Cheseto, who recently had both feet amputated due to severe frostbite, has been set up by the university.

Cheseto, a 28-year-old student-athlete from Kenya, early this month disappeared for two days while wearing light clothing during a snowstorm. He suffered hypothermia and severe frostbite and remains hospitalized.

Donations can be sent by check and made out to UAA Athletics/Cheseto Fund, and mailed to UAA Athletics, Wells Fargo Sports Complex, Room 220, 3211 Providence Drive, Anchorage, AK 99508. Cards and letters can be sent to the same address.
