Man accused of injecting heroin into girl who overdosed

A 14-year-old girl is in critical condition in an Anchorage hospital Sunday after a man injected her with heroin last Thursday, police said.

The man, Sean Warner, 26, was arrested early Sunday and charged with misconduct involving a controlled substance.

The girl, identified by police only as J.D., went to Warner's home in the 2800 block of Leighton Street off West Northern Lights Boulevard on Thursday to hang out, said police. She agreed to try some heroin that Warner had but didn't want to inject herself, so Warner did it, police said.

Two other friends of Warner's, men aged 21 and 22, were also present.

At about 9:30 a.m. Friday, someone found the girl face-down in her own vomit, police said. She had difficulty breathing and began convulsing. People in the home tried CPR, then called 911 about 1:30 p.m. Medics took her to a hospital.

Tests showed she had cocaine, heroin, methamphetamine and marijuana in her system, and she had suffered an overdose, said police.

Warner was taken tthe Anchorage jail.
