Syndicated sex columnist returns to UAA next month

Sex columnist Dan Savage will present a talk at the University of Alaska Anchorage next month. His last presentation in Anchorage two years ago sold out.

The widely read gay sex columnist in the Seattle alternative weekly The Stranger has recently gained a national audience with his "It Gets Better" video project on YouTube, which asks people to make and upload short positive videos about their experiences in the lesbian/gay/bisexual/transsexual community.

"Savage Love Live" will be presented by UAA Student Activities at 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 9 in Wendy Williamson Auditorium. The "audience-driven" talk, part of UAA's Healthy Sexuality Week, may contain explicit language and sexual content.

The event is open to the public. Tickets, $16, will go on sale on Friday, Jan. 20, at uaatix.com or in person at the UAA Student Union information desk. Advance tickets for UAA students are $5. Any remaining tickets will be available at the door for a higher price.
