Chelf, Tower battle cold for wins in bicycle race

Josh Chelf and Janice Tower battled through extreme cold to earn victories last weekend in Chain Reaction Cycles' Abominable Snow Series, a bike racing series at Far North Bicentennial Park.

Many cyclists were unable to finish the race because of low temperatures, but Chelf completed 12 miles in 1 hour, 24 minutes, 40 seconds to take the men's open division. Tower won the women's open division, finishing an eight-mile race in 51:47.
