Second man arrested in stabbing death of Wasilla man

Alaska State Troopers have arrested a second man in a fatal Wasilla-area stabbing March 7.

Andrew Johnson, 38, is charged with second-degree murder and burglary in the attack that killed Michael Plummer, 43.

The charges stem from an incident in which Johnson, his son Spencer Johnson and another man burst into a house near Mile 15 of Knik Goose Bay Road, according to a charging document.

Johnson's wife was staying at the home for the night after a marital dispute, and the men fought near the doorway with Plummer, whose fiance is friends with Johnson's wife, family members said. Witnesses later said that Spencer Johnson stabbed Plummer in the throat during the altercation, according to the charges.

Plummer's fiance shot Andrew Johnson before he and the other men fled. Johnson was treated at a Wasilla hospital, and his son Spencer was charged with murdering Plummer, troopers said.

Further investigation led to the Thursday charges against Andrew Johnson, troopers said. He is held on $100,000 cash bail.
