School District seeks input on graduation requirements

The Anchorage School District is holding public meetings this week asking for feedback on proposed changes to graduation requirements.

The proposed changes focus on district goals of increasing rigor and flexibility of core requirements while making career and technology education classes easier for students to fit in to their schedules.

If adopted by the School Board, the changes would impact how many and what kinds of classes students must take to graduate.

The meetings are on Monday at the ASD Education Center boardroom, located at 5530 E Northern Lights Blvd., on Wednesday at the Service High School cafeteria at 5577 Abbott Road and Thursday at the Eagle River High School cafeteria at 8701 Yosemite Drive in Eagle River.

All meetings are from 6-8 p.m. and are open to the public.
